If you’re looking for a wind and watertight or cargo worthy container, these modifications are worth considering.

In this workshop walkthrough we look at a cargo worthy used shipping container, also known as an economy wind and watertight container.

While these containers may not look as clean as a new build or repainted container, they are structurally sound and perfect for general storage.

Before this container leaves the yard we are adding two popular upgrades:

1. Shipping Container Lock Box

A heavy-duty security lock box protects the padlock from bolt cutters and grinders, making it far harder for someone to break into the container.

2. Whirly Bird Ventilation Kit

Containers are sealed steel boxes, which means moisture and humidity can build up inside. A whirly bird roof vent combined with lower airflow vents improves circulation and helps reduce condensation inside the container.

If you’re planning to store valuable equipment, tools or stock inside your container, these two upgrades can make a big difference.
