Shipping Containers Grades
At Containers First, we grade the shipping containers that we sell to make it easy for you to select the type of container that best fits your needs. Please see below for a detailed description of each grade:
PREMIUM REPAINTED
Our premium repainted shipping containers are painted inside and out in our standard colours (Colourbond colour available on request. Additional charges may apply). Completely wind and water tight, weather proof, vermin proof and all the door seals have been serviced. This grade of container will have limited dents and/or patches however these will not impact on the internal storage space. 100% secure, lockable and cosmetically appealing if being used where it needs to look good in its new surroundings where the budget does not allow for a new build.
Ask about padlocks and lock covers for maximum protection and an awesome deal on these items..
A premium repainted grade can be used for rail and ocean freight with CSC Certification ($125.00 fee applies Ex GST).
NEW BUILD (ONE TRIP)
These containers have been newly built and have only done one trip at sea as opposed to ALL the other grades which have been at sea for many years. If you are looking to buy quality, these containers will last for many decades and represent the best value and life expectancy available. Whilst these containers are newly built they have however been used to getting cargo from overseas to Australia which means there can be signs of use. We give these containers to shipping lines free of charge to enable the cheapest resale to you, our customer. So, it is possible to find (a small amount) of non transferable markings to the internal as well as external marks from handling equipment at the ports. Please note that we highlight that there may be some marks to ensure we give an accurate description. This will help both the perfectionist and the average buyer.
This grade of shipping container is perfect if you are looking for a container that does not have any rust, is aesthetically in great shape and especially if you are planning to modify the container and need to be sure it will have the longest life.
CARGO WORTHY
As per the name, our Cargo worthy Container is our best value graded container for its condition and is still watertight, weatherproof, and rodent proof. In this grade, the container is cosmetically inferior to the standard and Premium Repainted containers and will show more signs of wear, tear, dents, surface rust, patches, and other damage. This grade of container is excellent for short to mid-term commercial storage, trade storage, or domestic storage where longevity and appearance are a low priority. No preventative maintenance.
Economy Wind & Watertight Containers are not recommended for rail and ocean freight and are better suited to static storage requirements or the budget-conscious.If Rail/certification is required, the fee includes a higher grade of container.
